In Singapore, each citizen and permanent resident in Singapore above the age of 15 is generally required to have a Singapore ID card. Unique NRIC number comprising 9 alphanumeric characters, which acts as an identifier and is permanent. The second and third characters can reveal a person’s birth year.
Reporting Loss and Replacement of Singapore ID Card

Singaporean citizens who have lost their IC are required to report the loss and apply for a replacement in person within 14 days. A police report is required only if you are a victim of crime. Otherwise, you may execute a Statutory Declaration duly notarised by a US Notary Public or when you go to ICA to report the loss. Upon returning to Singapore, please visit the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to report the loss.

Change Name or Address in Singapore ID Card

You may only change of name or address on your Identity Card directly with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.
